23. Ninawa [Part 2]
Hello Beautiful Listeners,
I hope you are ready for Part 2 as much as I enjoyed producing it. In this installment I reveal to you my real name and I share a very personal story about my background and family.
I forgot to add in the recording that the reason I chose this angelic choir intro song was because, that was basically my reaction when I heard Nantzin Sixta say the word to me "Mutzungal", I was hearing the voice of my grandmother.
The first half of this episode I talk about a few things such as, please rescue me from the Canadian algorithm, please share my podcast on your platforms wherever you are in the world.
Please remember that ASMR is quiet entertainment, it does not replace medical therapy. Always consult with your doctor.

NAWAT
—————
Nahuatl: Mexican variant
Nawat or Nahuat: Salvadoran variant
Mutzungal: Your hair
Ninawa: I am Nawa
It is one of the indigenous languages of the Americas. It was spoke from the Southern United States to Nicaragua. There were more variants but sadly, they are extinct.
If you are interested in learning the Nawat language (again, Salvadoran variant), please connect with Hector Martinez, Timumachtikan Nawat (Let's Learn Nawat"
https://www.youtube.com/@TimumachtikanNawat
He is a teacher and has extensive knowledge of the Nawa culture, he is also from academia.
Nantzin Sixta is one of our elders with him we have classes to practice our language skills

1932: La Matanza / The Massacre
———— ———— ———— ————
The Salvadoran Government in 1932 ordered the massacre of Salvadoran indigenous people. As a result, many of the survivors of this horrendous and senseless killing, did not teach their children and their children the Nawat language to protect them.
We lost about 30,000 innocent lives
It was prohibited to speak the language for many generations. This is the reason why many Salvadorans don't have first names in Nawat, they are in Spanish or in English or other languages such as Kelly, Valery, Steven, and the list goes on.
Also, the link below says "Pipil", which is incorrect as that word in Nawat means child. The Salvadoran academia needs to decolonize itself:
